Canada & British Columbia
We help processors translate CFIA, SFCR, Health Canada and provincial health-authority requirements into practical technical documentation and controls.
Federal pathway
CFIA and the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations
For businesses importing, exporting or trading food interprovincially, the applicable pathway may include licensing, preventive controls, a written preventive control plan, traceability, labelling and commodity-specific requirements.
- SFCR applicability and gap assessment
- Preventive controls and PCP development
- Hazard analysis, control measures and critical limits
- Verification, monitoring and record templates
- Traceability and recall-system documentation
- Technical responses to CFIA observations
British Columbia pathway
Local production and health-authority review
B.C. food processors must operate under applicable provincial requirements. Food safety and sanitation plans are submitted to the local health authority, and an Environmental Health Officer may request further evidence for a product or process.
- Food safety and sanitation plans
- Process flow and hazard-control documentation
- Process Authority review when requested
- pH, water activity and shelf-life evidence plans
- Thermal-process and cooling validation
- Responses to Fraser Health, VCH and other B.C. health authorities
Jurisdiction matters. A locally sold B.C. product, an interprovincially traded product and an exported product may follow different regulatory pathways. We identify the applicable scope before proposing work.
